Salatalıklı Ayran/Cucumber-Yoghurt Drink (Turkey)
The perfect accompaniment to Murat's Karıyarık ( stuffed eggplants), here is a refreshing cucumber-yoghurt drink.
Salatalıklı Ayran
Ingredients
2 cups of yogurt
2 cups of water (you can also use 1,5 cups ice and 1 cup seltzer water to make it crisp )
Half tea spoon of salf
1 Persian cucumber (pealed)
8 leafs of mint (or) 8 leafs of Italian basil
Directions
1. Mix yogurt, ice and water, and cucumber in blender. Add salt and mix together to blend gently for a minute.
2. Add mint or basil to mix in the blender and mix for another 5 second.
3. After mix you can serve right away or keep in the Fridge for 12 hours for more intense cucumber and mint flavor before serving
Pour in glass and decorate with mint or basil on top. (Optional)
